Secondary Science

At NISD, the goal of secondary science education is to develop an understanding of how the natural world works through the construction of scientific models, drawing conclusions about those models and justifying their conclusions with evidence.  Science uses mathematical models to justify, text evidence to learn and critical writing to express findings.
Many science courses have On Level and PreAP options.  On-Level courses focus on mastery of power standards and building literacy skills through science content.  PreAP courses focus on deep understanding of the relationship between mathematical equations and science concepts and the expression of findings through technical writing.
