Principals pose with their Schools Transforming Learning awards

Northwest ISD’s Beck Elementary School and Wilson Middle School have received distinction as Schools Transforming Learning by the Principals’ Institute, honoring each school’s commitment to providing innovative educational services.

Just 31 schools across Texas were named to the 2018 Schools Transforming Learning list, which considers unique learning opportunities and whether all students’ needs are met. Nominations for the distinction were open to more than 72 public school districts across the state involved in the professional organization.

Schools were selected to the list based on their work to advance student learning, including evolving at least one of the following categories: digital learning environments, learning assessments, learning accountability, organizational structure or partnerships.

A committee composed of Principals’ Institute members reviewed nominations and selected this year’s designees.

As part of Beck and Wilson’s recognition, the schools were honored at the Principals’ Institute Summer Conference on June 7.
