Byron Nelson High School’s FFA program has earned two top-three team finishes at the State Career Development Events competition hosted at Texas Tech University, along with four students ranking among the top in their events as individuals.

The school’s agronomy – study of soil and crops – team was named State Reserve Champions for their second-place finish in the category. The team is composed of Lauren Hartmann, Lexi Ong, Cole Novak, Kylie Scott and Sterling Urrutia. Kylie and Cole also earned individual honors, placing as the third- and eighth-best scoring individuals, respectively.

In the entomology – study of insects – category, Byron Nelson’s team finished third in the state. The team is composed of Kristin Clary, Ashiley Hall, Jessica Hunter, Virginia Norred and Corynne Turner. Additionally, Kristin was among the top finishers as an individual, earning the seventh-best score.
