High school homecoming festivities taking place in September, October

Northwest ISD Stadium

Northwest ISD’s three comprehensive high schools – Byron Nelson, Eaton and Northwest – will host homecoming games and festivities throughout September and October, with several family-friendly events available throughout the week of each game.

Eaton High School: Homecoming Game on Sept. 14
Eaton High School will host its first homecoming game ever on Friday, Sept. 14, with the king and queen set to be crowned before the game, which begins at 7 p.m. An exact time of the crowning is pending.

In advance of the game, the school will host a homecoming parade beginning at about 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the high school campus. Parking for the parade will be available at Schluter Elementary School and Adams Middle School. A community pep rally will follow about 15 minutes after the end of the parade, at roughly 7:30 to 7:45 p.m.

Finally, the school’s homecoming dance will take place 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, in the school’s student union.

Byron Nelson High School: Homecoming Game on Sept. 28
Byron Nelson High School will host its homecoming game on Friday, Sept. 28, with the king and queen set to be crowned at halftime of the game, which begins at 7 p.m.

In advance of the game, the school will host a homecoming parade beginning at about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, starting at Medlin Middle School and ending at Byron Nelson High School. To see a map of the route, click here. A community pep rally will follow the parade, at roughly 7:30 p.m.

Finally, the school’s homecoming dance will take place 8 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the school. To see more information about all the school’s homecoming events taking place, click here.

Northwest High School: Homecoming Game on Oct. 5
Northwest High School will host its homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 5, with the king and queen set to be crowned at halftime of the game, which begins at 7:30 p.m.

In advance of the game, the school will host a homecoming parade beginning at about 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, starting at Northwest High School and ending at Northwest ISD Stadium. A community pep rally will follow the parade, at roughly 7 p.m. Notably, the parade will feature a special guest: Northwest High School's first-ever homecoming queen, JoNell Mitchell (née Pittman), crowned in 1950.
