An Eaton High School cheerleader cheers at a game

Cheerleading squads at Northwest ISD’s three comprehensive high schools – Byron Nelson, Eaton and Northwest – will soon host mandatory meetings for students interested in trying out for next year’s squad, with the tryouts to take place in the coming weeks.

Byron Nelson, Eaton and Northwest will hold their mandatory meeting at Northwest High School’s student union at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19. Any students interested in trying out must attend this meeting with at least one parent or guardian.

Following this meeting, cheerleading squads will host tryout clinics, mock tryouts and tryouts at their home campuses. The tryout will take place Thursday, March 7, at each campus, while the tryout clinic and mock tryouts will take place earlier that week. All of these events are required to try out.
