Medlin, Thompson teams compete at Destination Imagination Global Finals

Teams from Thompson Elementary School and Medlin Middle School recently competed in the Destination Imagination Global Finals, one of the largest problem-solving competitions for students in the world.

The Global Finals tournament hosted more than 1,200 teams – from 17 countries and 38 states – in Kansas City, Missouri, in late May. The Thompson team, “Too Legit to Quit,” placed 24th out of 55 teams in the medical mystery challenge category, while Medlin’s “Wombats in Spanish” team finished 35th out of more than 60 teams in the service learning challenge.

Thompson team members included Frankie Garza, Jackson Macheca, Jaden Medlen, Elijah Smith, Isley Stanley, David Strong and Brianna Zalskey. Marcie Conrad and Katherine Medlen managed the Thompson team. Medlin team members included Gwen Baxter, Reagan Ellis, Ryder Fine, Andrew Golden, Ian Hill and Kurt Ippolito. Laurie Baxter coached the Medlin team.
