Parent workshop for building child’s self-esteem set for Oct. 17

Northwest ISD’s family involvement program will host a workshop for building and nurturing self-esteem in a child on Oct. 17, where parents and guardians can learn techniques to help their children.
The workshop, which will last from 6 to 7 p.m. at Adams Middle School (located at 1069 Eagle Blvd. in Haslet), is open to anyone within the school district. Attendees will learn to:
- Understand the concept of self-esteem and its importance in the development of mentally healthy individuals
- Identify the main sources of self-esteem
- Recognize that self-esteem requires constant maintenance throughout life
- Understand that self-esteem can be built and rebuilt at any stage of life
- Respect for their children for who they are
- Gain new skills for developing self-esteem in themselves and their children
