Northwest ISD trustees have approved the district recommendation to name Jonathan Pastusek as its new executive director of financial services, overseeing financial planning and management for the district and its 28 schools.

Mr. Pastusek comes to Northwest ISD from Bowie ISD, where he has served as chief financial officer since 2014. In that role, he manages operations of all financial and business affairs for his school district. He also has the unique qualification for someone in his position of having prior experience as an educator – he served as the head basketball coach for three years at Notre Dame High School in Wichita Falls, his alma mater.

“I’m eager to help steer the financial direction for a district as large and fast-growing as Northwest ISD – it’s an exciting way to help our students, staff and schools in the way I best can,” Mr. Pastusek said. “Education has always been a passion of mine, and in this role I can make my own positive contributions for thousands of students and educators.”

Prior to his time in public education, Mr. Pastusek spent several years in the commercial finance sector. He served as the chief financial officer at Chandler MFG and SuperTherm Fluid Heating Services, a business manager at Energy Service Company, and a leasing officer at American National Bank.

Mr. Pastusek received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Midwestern State University, majoring in finance as an undergraduate student and business administration as a graduate student.
