Northwest ISD’s School Health Advisory Council is seeking new members for the 2020-21 school year, providing parents and community members with an opportunity to influence district health programs.

Every independent school district is required by law to operate an SHAC, and the majority of its members must be parents or caregivers who are not employed by the school district. These members must serve as an accurate representation of the district.

For the 2020-21 school year, the committee will meet four times, at 6 p.m. in the district athletic building on the following dates: Sept. 21, Nov. 16, Jan. 25, March 1 and May 3.

For more information or to express your interest in serving on the SHAC, please contact Michelle Shilling, assistant athletic director of health and P.E., via email at mshilling@nisdtx.org or by phone at 817-215-0202.
