The Texas PTA has named Todd Rogers, associate principal at Byron Nelson High School, as its Secondary Principal of the Year for his work promoting student success through family and community engagement.

In a letter to Mr. Rogers announcing his recognition, the Texas PTA said his nomination “made a lasting impression on our review committee” and noted his commitment to students reaching their potential is a testament to his work. The award comes as part of Texas PTA’s 2017 Outstanding Educators program, which honors education professionals across six categories. Mr. Rogers and fellow award-winners will be honored at the Talk of Texas luncheon in Houston on Saturday, July 22, as part of their recognitions.

Mr. Rogers began his tenure at Northwest ISD as a principal at Peterson Elementary School in 2008. In 2011, he accepted the same position at the district’s Chisholm Trail Middle School before becoming Byron Nelson’s associate principal in 2015.

He has regularly received accolades for his commitment to student success, and he currently serves as an elected board member on the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals.
