Medlin Middle School will host its student-run Merry Mustang Carnival from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, providing community members with fun activities that benefit a local charity.

This year’s carnival has tripled in size over its inaugural 2015 event, with 150 student volunteers, 25 staff volunteers and 40 student-run booths planned. That personnel will help with five food trucks, student council inflatables, bubble soccer and laser tag.

Proceeds will benefit the local Summer Santa charity, which aims to extend the spirit of giving beyond the holiday season to children throughout the year. The charity pays for summer camp costs, donates toys and provides back-to-school supplies to children in Northeast Tarrant County. Last year, the Merry Mustang Carnival’s proceeds resulted in a $4,000 donation to the charity.
