Please be aware that after 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, construction crews will open the new F.M. 156 bridge above S.H. 114 near our school district’s central complex – near Northwest High School, Pike Middle School, Hatfield Elementary School, Northwest ISD Stadium and the district administration building.

Because this change will occur after 9 a.m., it should not affect the traffic flow during arrivals at nearby schools. The opening of the bridge will take place during school hours, prior to dismissal times at all campuses. Please exercise caution during schools hours and after dismissal if you are around this area, as traffic may take time to adjust to the bridge opening.

For Northwest High School families and staff, the opening of the new bridge will also allow the entry road to the northern parking lot to reopen. Although this entry can also be used for exiting, we strongly encourage using the Texan Drive exit onto F.M. 156, as this intersection has a controlled traffic light for protected exits. Crews will continue to adjust traffic light settings during the roadway construction process to adjust to the traffic flow of the area.

Thank you for your assistance in ensuring a safe environment exists around all our schools.
