Northwest Texans pose following signing letters of intent

Ten Northwest High School student-athletes signed letters of intent on Wednesday to play collegiate sports, signaling their dedication to earn their bachelor’s degrees while splitting time on the playing field.

From the baseball team, two Northwest Texan student-athletes signed letters of intent on Wednesday. Cayde Ward signed with Seward County Community College, and Bryson Wrobel signed with Northwestern Oklahoma State University. The duo join four of their Northwest peers who signed letters of intent earlier this school year to play collegiate baseball.

Girls soccer was also represented by two student-athletes who will play collegiately. Joellen Hindman signed with Oklahoma Wesleyan University, and classmate Fernanda Soto signed with Texas A&M Texarkana.

Football led all sports at Wednesday’s ceremony with six student-athlete signing letters of intent following the team’s best season ever in the fall. Carson Hickman signed with Southern Nazarene University, Gavin Holmes signed with Baylor University, Caden McDonald signed with San Diego State University, Syrus Moore signed with Harding University, Emmanuel Ogunwolu signed with Angelo State University and Tanner Savoy signed with William Jewel University.

Northwest ISD’s Byron Nelson High School will hold its signing ceremony on Thursday. Eaton High School, the district’s third comprehensive high school, does not have a signing ceremony this year as the school has no senior class.
