Signing day ceremonies recognize 28 student-athletes set for collegiate sports

Northwest ISD recognized 28 student-athletes signing letters of intent at ceremonies hosted by the district’s three comprehensive high schools on Wednesday, April 11, signifying their transition to collegiate academics and athletics.

Byron Nelson High School was represented by 14 student-athletes across signing letters of intent across seven sports. From the football team, Kayden Orebaugh, Nicholaus Santini and Connor Stillwell all signed with McPherson College, while DJ Robinson signed with Texas Wesleyan University. For soccer, Tanner Keough signed with Hill College and Madalyn Turlington signed with Gardner Webb University. From basketball, Hannah Adkins signed with Mary Hardin Baylor University and David Nzekwesi signed with the University of Denver. Cross country runners Caleb Bouchard and Madeline Castleberry signed with the University of North Texas and University of Houston, respectively. Volleyball player Maraesha Nicholson signed with Henderson State University, and teammate Faith Warren signed with Lubbock Christian University. Finally, baseball player Josh Caraway signed with Weatherford College and track runner Rachel Smith signed with Midland University.

From Eaton High School, 10 student-athletes signed letters of intent across three sports. From the baseball team, Bryan Burgos (signing with Northern Oklahoma College), Sean Klein (Garden City College), Chandler Miller (Northwestern Oklahoma State University), Seth Parriette (McMurray University) and Zackary Wilson (Alabama Coastal College) signed letters of intent. From the football team, Conner Biedenstein and Sam Vinson signed with Texas Wesleyan University, while Zach Marks signed with Hardin Simmons University and Andrew Phipps signed with Mary Hardin Baylor University. Finally, tennis player Madison Bishop signed with Texas A&M Texarkana.

Four Northwest High School student-athletes signed letters of intent across two sports. From the soccer team, Logan Keeno signed with Southwestern University and Jonathan Morrison signed with Shaw University. Volleyball player Analise Lucio signed with University of Texas Permian Basin, and track runner Kaylee Boatwright signed with Midwestern State University.

With Wednesday’s signings, Northwest ISD now has 57 student-athletes who have signed letters of intent to take part in collegiate athletics after graduating.
