Update (Monday, Sept. 4): This is a reminder for families whose children use transportation to check your email today – Monday, Sept. 4 – for updated route information as well as drop-off and pick-up times. Beginning this afternoon, Durham will send an email with updated information. Please make sure you review this updated email as some children could experience changes because of the addition of students.

Durham and Northwest ISD offices are closed today for the holiday. If you need to contact Durham regarding your child’s bus information, their offices will open tomorrow at 6 a.m. The phone number is 817-698-1287. Thank you again for your patience as we resolved these errors. See you at school tomorrow.


Update (Thursday, Aug. 31): As mentioned in a recent districtwide email, Durham Transportation Services is in the process of fixing issues regarding student enrollment information being improperly imported into their database. A team from Durham's corporate offices arrived Tuesday evening to expedite this process, and they believe they have resolved all database issues and are now in the process of rerouting the entire school district to ensure every family has correct routing information.

There are no changes for transportation for Friday, Sept. 1.

The district expects these changes to be ready by the first day of school next week on Tuesday, Sept. 5. We realize this has inconvenienced many families, and we apologize for these problems. Northwest ISD has asked Durham to send accurate routing information to parents on Monday, Sept. 4. Additionally, Durham has updated the district's route information program, Versatrans, for families dealing with these issues to find the nearest bus stop.


Original Post (Wednesday, Aug. 30): Northwest ISD apologizes again for the transportation issues with Durham School Services for this first part of our school year.

Last night, Dr. Ryder Warren, superintendent, addressed many questions from parents and explained the situation during the district's Facebook Live broadcast (click link to view recording). Northwest ISD will provide daily updates through email and its website so district families can stay as informed as possible.

A team from Durham's corporate offices arrived Tuesday night to address Durham's routing system problem that has failed as they attempted to pull district enrollment data into their system. Even though this is Durham's system, our district administrative team has been working around the clock to find a solution as quickly as possible. It is Northwest ISD's expectation, and the district will ensure, that Durham will return every parent phone call and email.

The latest update from Durham is that they feel they have the issues solved regarding our database and have now started to reroute the entire school district to make sure all children have the appropriate route information for their families. This week, there will not be changes to students who are currently using transportation services.

Northwest ISD has asked Durham to send parents accurate routing information on Monday, Sept. 4, before school resumes on Tuesday, Sept. 5. We will send this update to district families every day until Monday, Sept. 4, to ensure everyone understands where Durham is in this process. Thank you for your patience.
