The office of U.S. Congresswoman Kay Granger has recognized a V.R. Eaton High School student’s artwork as part of
an annual contest it organizes, showcasing the student's talent among others in the county.

Each spring, Rep. Granger’s office participates in the Congressional Art Competition. Through the competition, students within Rep. Granger’s district can submit art for consideration in both the national competition and the congressional district.

In the 2021 Congressional Art Competition, Eaton Eagle senior Abigail Legra received first place in District 12 for her photography work entitled “Short Sighted,” seen above.

The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982, with hundreds of thousands of students competing since then. All district art winners from across the country are entered into the National Competition, of which Legra is awaiting the final announcement, signifying the winners of the competition.
